ok well ive been gaining about 5 pounds every 2 months for the past 8 months or so...i know its not just fat...is this weight gaining slow or fast?? i want it fast and efficent and i do intense workouts 8 reps 3 sets and i eat about 160 grams of protein a day....about 550 carbs and only 60 grams of fat a day..i am 17 years old and i weight 150 pounds...is what i do good?or should i change something to make me grow faster?

the faster you try to gain weight, the more of it fat it will be. Keep the gains slow and steady, everything looks good to me.

You are doing fine. Gaining 5 lbs every two months is good for gaining lean mass versus fat. What you are doing now is working for you, so stick with it and increase the intake of protein and calories when you stop gaining. Make sure to take a week or 2 off now and then. Good practice would be 1 - 2 weeks off for 8 - 12 weeks of training. Take off 2 weeks for 12 weeks of heavy lifting. Just keep your diet up and don't be a couch potato during your break. Thanx for the tips...i have another question. Should i train my lower back?? My friend told me that i shouldnt beacuse it is bad for my spine....

You should train the lower back. The lower back is part of your core. Without a strong core, you wont see much gain in other regions of your body.
The muscles of your back also protect the spine, and support it.
