I'd say you get way more... on a treadmill you're just using the same motion over and over. With basketball you're getting a diversity in motion.
I've realized from experience that basketball is especially good because you can really pace yourself. Work hard and run hard on offence, do the same on defence, if you feel like you've gone to hard you can slow it down when you have the ball.
Also depends on what kind of basketball... 5 on 5 is a quite a bit easier than 2 on 2 or 3 on 3.
