Hi, I'm new here! I'm 23 and my height is 5'6 and I weigh around 130! I exercise everyday! I do The Firm for two days, and then one day I do Pilates and yoga! I exercise inleast 45-60 minutes a day! I'm wanting to get a thin firm toned body, not bulky muscles!
I have to help keep up the house and help take care of my grandma (she's blind), my parents are to busy during the day, so I do all that everyday too! It's a two story house and did I say how many dogs we have? We have 4dogs and 1 cat so I take care of them too! I quess it's good I love dogs huh!
I'm just explaining this because I do some of that (laundry,cleaning upstairs/downstairs,grandma,dogs,cat,meals) on top of exercising everyday!
I just want to give you all an idea how much calories I might be burning!
I used to be a raw foodest, I did nothing but gain water weight! I noticed since I went back vegetarian I already lost about 2 inches on my stomach! Can you believe too much raw veggies and fruit can do that! I also noticed I just couldn't get were I could eat enough calories and if there's not enough calories, then there really isn't enough protein! So could some give me an idea of how much calories and protein I should have everyday?
Also can some give me a daily idea on what a vegetarian could eat? Like what would be good carbs and good proteins for loosing weight and toning the body (not big muscles! Just toned!)

protein u need ur body weight in, i dunno since u only its vegies thats kinda hard, if u eat milk and stuff get some good whey protein or if u don't drink milk get soy protein, both aren't too bad i have to drink mine though with water though since i'm abig guy an di need to watch my carbs right now

Thanks! I'm already drinking soy protein everyday (about 2 serv. 38g)! Plus alot of beans and greens!
Do I watch my calories though, or is the protein more important? I heard if you eat more calories then you burn you put on weight! I don't want to do that! I don't know how many calories a day I should have though! I don't know my limit! It's just hard to get alot of protein without alot of calories behind it!

the extra protein will help u keep ur muscle, as for carbs and fat u will have to go by trail and error everyone is different, the base calorie system for an average person is 2000,
protein has 4 calors per gram
carbs 4 caloris per gram
and fats 9 calories per gram...
so 130grams of protein x 4 = 520 calories
i'd say 300carbs since ur active x 4 = 1200calories from carbs
520+1200 =1720 calories
2000-1720 =280 calories/9 = about 31 garms of fats a day
that would be i guess kinda split u can play with ur proteins/ carbs/ fats all u want for ur body i was just playing around to shwo u how u can come up with calulations to make ur own diet 31 grams of fat seems kinda high for you........but again i was showing calulations cause u can work backwards or forwards......I AM NOT A NUTRETIONIST! DON'T GO BY THIS DIET! LOL but i do knwo hwo to get the totals lol this again was all i was showing u

Thanks for all your help! That makes more since, then going 10 times your weight and minuse 500 calories if you want to loose some more weight! I couldn't ever do that! I was starving!
