well i started my workout, the general workout, according to the facts the comptuer gave me. i new how many sets to do and how many reps but i did not know how much weight to start out with, and how much time to keep in between.

i did machine squats with the bar plus 30 so i guess 75, and i was doing the 4 sets and was pretty tired, couldnt have gone much longer at the end, took about a minute between each set

doing the machine leg curl things i did 30 pounds and that was about 5 mintues after the squats with same intervals pretty much and i couldnt have gone much longer

how do i know how much weight to really start out with on all my exersizes?

You should be using a weight that you feel comfortable with, and be able to acheive pervfect form during the exercise.
Not knowing your level of experience it is hard to give an opinion, but for beginners, I would say go with a weight that you can feel good with, and will be hard for the last 3 of your reps.
