Does anyone have examples of their HIIT routines. Mine is 22 minutes , 5 min warm up, 30 seconds high as I can go, 60 seconds recovery, for 8 cycles, then 5 minutes cool down.Is this the right way to do hiit??? Should I change it sometimes???

that sounds pretty good.. a HIIT routine should last anywhere between 16 to 20 minutes, with a 5 min warmup and 5 min cooldown as well. I sometimes do 45 sec sprints with 90 sec easy. dont do HITT everytime you do cardio though, maybe just once or twice a week depending on your cardio schedule.

Do you mean 16-20 minutes not including the warmup/cooldown:big_smile:

Does your body adapt to this, and if so how do you keep it fresh...

I log my intervals here online - feel free to check them out. HIIT has been working real well for me since I started doing doing more HIIT and less tempo.

yeah pumpkin, thats exactly what i meant. and sivysivy, your body will eventually adapt to the HITT training if you do it all the time, like your body would adapt to anything else you do prolonged. Mix it up with regular endurance cardio. Both are still gonna provide cardiovascular benefits, but HITT is more or less involved in burning more calories.
