I have been taking my blood pressure and it seems to be a little high. Mostly my top number is in the mid 140. My mom thinks it is the whey protein I take seeing is that is the only thing that has changed in my diet. I told her it couldnt be. Anyone have something to share on this topic???
Does working out cause any increase in blood pressure even when you arent working out????

Lewdog, how's your diet? The elevated blood pressure could be caused by an increase in cholesterol intake. Do you eat many whole eggs or fried foods?

Also, if you're really worried, there are medications you can take to help lower it. Consult with your doc.

Good luck!

No whole eggs and no fried or fast foods for me. I know that high blood pressure is caused by sodium but I dont eat to much of that either. I am seeing my doctor this summer. Could they whey cause this increase??? It is the only thing new that I have started taking since my blood pressure went up.

What brand are you taking? And what does the label say?

I have high blood pressure, and I take medication to control it. Since I started working out four months ago I was able to reduce the amount of medication I take. I use whey protein as a supplement, just the plain old protein powder. Stay away from any stimulants(aka fat burners) you have to loose the fat the old fashion way.

Hey guys I as well have Hi blood press. And my doc can't really tell me why I have it. He said it might run in my family but I've always suspeceted the supplements I take has something to do with it. I still don't know. But I am doing cardio to help lower it. But I didn't know working out helps lower it in your resting state.

I had high blood pressure, really mild though. I recently sat down at a machine in a store and it was WAY up from what it used to be. I actually forgot about that until now..

My LDLs were borderline a few months before I began this workout regimen. The recommendation was also 3-30 minute cardio sessions a week. I too forgot about that until now. I haven't done any cardio to speak of since beginning the mass programs a few months ago. Might be time to check into the old BP again to see. We might have a class action suit forming here! I SMELL GREENBACKS!
