I have heard that the Swiss or Fitness Ball is a super excellent way to work on strength and balance. You can pick up a great starters kit (and a coffee) at Barnes and Nobles for about 25 bucks so you can practice (and fall all around) on it in the privacy of your own home; not that I'm speaking from experience or anything. ;)

try doing excercises on a 45lb plat....with a 5 or 10 lb plat under it.....and stand on it. Do curls up right rows, miltary presses(standing) bentover rows. The 45 will be unstabel with the 10lbs weight under it forcing you to balance and keep the movement smooth and precise.

The balls will help with core stability.

If you have had a concusion is it wise to still be playing football?

train your body unilaterally....do one legged squats... or close your eyes while doing squats with a light weight and a spotter....(even w/o wieght)....use physioballs......you can use one of those half ball platforms to stand on...

try taking a yoga class...or pilates....they do different moves which require a lot of coordination/flexibility/balance....don't worry about looking silly....it's awesome for overall development....

you can even be creative...stand on one leg, extend other leg back and your chest forward while spreading arms out...try to stand like that as long as you can..then switch legs....

or stand on one leg with arms spread out, clasp your other leg around the one you're standing on...now close your eyes.....stand like that for 30sec or as long as you can...lightly touch the wall with fingers of one of your arms for reassurement at first if u need to....

google other things u can do...
