Is it possible to lose body fat without getting mega muscles? :) Nothing wrong with muscles, but I'm really just interested in losing a few pounds and getting a little muscle in the process.

Even if you want a little muscle you should throw in weights. Just don't lift heavy. Try some circuit training in addition to your cardio.

You make it sound like gaining "mega muscles" can happen accidentally. Look at how much time and effort the mega muscle people put into the gym to get where they are, it takes a lot of effort.

Exactly ecle5. Gaining that much muscle takes MAJOR effort, especially for women who don't have the testosterone levels to support or build muscle more easily. Anyone trying to lose weight should lift weights. Extra muscle increases the metabolism, thus increasing the fat burning potential. Cardio is great for the heart, and for burning calories and fat while you are doing it, and for overall health. But, when you lift weights you are turning your body into a full time fat burning machine. That may be what the article KA posted says, I didn't check. Oops.
