Hi im new to this site and to lifting weights and I would like to know when I go work out should I just concentrate on one muscle group each day like chest one day, biceps, triceps, forearms one day, legs and calves one day ect. or should I do alot of different things. Like this morning I went and did like mainly my shoulders and some abs excersises. Or should I do like alot of People I know and go do arms, chest, back, shoulders and try to get alot in on each day. I really want to gain strength and muscle the fastest way possible but not sure which is the correct path.. Thanks, :)

Welcome to ft! Have you signed up for an ft program? If not, you should as you'll get a complete training schedule, incorporating the different muscle groups.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll get different advice on this. But, if you want to add mass and strength, you don't want to target the same muscle groups everyday...you'll overtrain them. You can work on them once or even twice per week...everone's different.

Good luck! If you search old posts, there have been many on this subject.

Hello and welcome to ft. I agree with Robert on trying one of the ft programs. It takes all the guesswork out of designing a workout which can be very frustrating for beginners to weight training such as myself. I learn something new every day just from reading these posts. Good luck!
