Since a dear friend of mine died three days ago from a heart attack, this is a very important question. To prevent a heart attack we all know that it is based on excercise and diet, (of course genetics has a lot to do with it.) But, as far as excercise, those of us who have little time in the day-work, kids, etc, and want to live a long healthy life for my children- is weight training or cardio better?

weight training is better....since it has cardiovascular benefits....but not vice versa...
take fish oil daily 8-10g daily, as well as a baby aspirin(81mg)...if u want extra help....consult with a doctor tho...

Homocysteine levels are a good indicator of possible future conditions including heart attacks among other problems. If you are really concerned I would recommend getting yourself a testing kit (involves sending of a pin prick of blood). A level below 6 is considered ideal, you can then work to change mainly through your diet. I'd recommend you read Patrick Holford's New optimum nutrition bible for more info. I say this as it seems you're already working on the exercise part.
Menace is correct with the oils, also however vits E,C,B3 along with Selenium have been suggested to help with heart disease prevention.
Good luck
