.......Thank you folks, for your replies. Every bit of info is a help. I'm still wondering if I have done something wrong when I entered my data. For instance, take close grip Machine pulldowns. Wk 1 called for 20 reps for the first set. That same excersise came up next again in wk 4. Again 20, 15, 12, 10. Again in wk 6, same thing. The same thing for most everything else, the exact same number of reps. Anyway, I'm following the routine to the letter. I'm seeing a little progress & my progress charts show steady progress. At age 64 I guess any progression is a very good thing. I have the motivation of a 20 year old & have maintained that, for six years now. I love working out, thank God I'm able to. Motivation & determination has never been a problem. I just want to do it the right way. Yup, I paid for a personal trainer the first few months, six years ago, so that I learned correct form, up front. Thank's again, I am very happy to be part of this community.

My 12 week mass routine is very similar from week to week. I beleive the idea is to perform the compound exercises. These compound movements will give you maxium results. The people here at ft will be sure to give you the right info and correct me if I am wrong, they are really on top of things!

Welcome to ft, Heffie! You'll find lots of repetitive exercises and the number of repetitions may vary from week to week. However, the mass program fully concentrates on compound exercises which will help you gain mass. Towards the end, some isolation exercises will be thrown in to round out the mass you have gained.

Hope this helps and welcome aboard...

Yup,

I'm just finishing week 5 of the mass build program, and agree that the number of reps is similar all way through so far..

But this isn't a problem for me, because I just try to up the weight just a little bit each time I go back to an excersise I did previously: I look back at the short notes I make at the end of each excersise and adjust my weights accordingly. I'm certainly no expert (not by a long shot!) but this seems to be working for me.

Rob.
