Howdy, I was wondering if anyone thought it was a good idea or bad idea to try and gain lean muscle mass and burn body fat away at the same time??

Can people do this???

It is possible. You need to eat properly. This is the toughest part. The other thing is lift weights and sprint. Stay away from the cardio. Our one freshman volleyball player needed to put some LBM on because it was absolutely essential to her playing. It 5 weeks of training she put on 7lbs of LBM and took of 3lbs of fat. We never do cardio.

What kind of sprinting do you mean, Gator? When we do sprints in Basketball it sure gets me out of breath sometimes haha. Is sprinting not cardio? Yes I know cardio is supposed to be keeping it up for 30 minutes or something but I would think since you get out of breath and it gets your heart rate up----

Also, what kind of diet should this be?

This is one workout for example:
100 yrd sprint x 10
50 sec TBS
16 sec goal time

We do tons of anaerobic work. It boosts the metabolism.

I usually do either 200 yard gassers which is running to a point 50 yards away back and forth twice, or just running 200 yard straight sprints. And certain days I will run speed drills which will be running a bunch of sprints in distances of 10,15,20,30, and 40 yards. And make sure you always run these as fast as you can with good balance and form.
