When I first started back on my workout plan back in Febuary, I meet with a trainer at my gym to find out about weight training. I had never done weight lifting before and mostly stuck to cardio. He advised me as to what machines I need to focus on. In the begining I noticed that I would hurt everywhere the next day after I did the machines that I was advised to use. I also have been changing up my workout plan every 6-8 weeks so my body does not get set on the same workouts. But I am finding that my musles are not hurting like they used to in the beging and I feel like I am not getting a good enough workout. So now I am at the stage where I wonder if I need to do something different. When I started, the trainer advise that I do 3 set of 15 reps of every machine that I was shown, but since then I have changed it on my own to 3 sets of around 25-30 reps. But even uping my sets/reps I still don't feel the burn/soreness that I did in the being of weight training. Should I be doing something different? Should I up the scales of weights? I am at a loss.

Hey nay34, if you want to get that burn back then try increasing the weight you are lifting. So aim for a weight where you are lifting that at 15 reps max; instead of increasing the reps.

You should be changind up your routine every couple of weeks; this is to force your body to adapt to different variability. In doing this your body burns fat and grows muscle. You can get an e-book on training variabilities at this link :
