My workouts have been 8PM or after last couple of weeks. I am feeling very tired this week before workout. My diet has not stabilized yet. I don't have any option to change my workout time. I have searched the site but wasn't able to find any help. I could have been searching the wrong keywords. Suggestions for keywords if info is already here?

Does anyone have any ideas for things that will help with this? I avoid caffeine. I have been getting normal sleep. Does everyone have these problems?

Will creatine, glutamine or anything else help?

I can't see a problem working out at 8 pm, I used to do it all the time when I was in college.

I still feel fatigued when I show up to the gym at 6:00 pm after a long day at work. Jumping on the stationary bike for 5 minutes and getting my heart rate up always makes it pass.

8pm is the only time u can workout?? how cna ur life be that busy?? im sure ud have time between lunch or straight after work or if u cut out tv time or something ud have time... even if u do it first thing in the mourning its better as far as i know to do it in the mourning then at 8pm at night... you might be very tired as you may be overtraining and purley for the fact u aint really going to get many nutrients in your body after a workout that start at 8pm and for all i know finish at 9pm? a shake and thats it? try working out earlier... get 8 or so hours of solid good sound sleep and see how you go..

timmstar,

mornings are like waking from the dead.
work all day.
two children absorb my early evenings.
8PM comes quickly for me.
TV only occurs after weights if at all.

Over training could be an issue.

Thanks for the reply.

Still got that pic I see.

Brad,

Thanks for the cardio idea. I happen to have a stationary here. I gave that a try and it seemed to help.

Thanks for the reply.

If I don't get the carbs I should, will this affect me the same day or later?

I trained quite late also for a while...12am to 2-3am....

however I haveno trouble sleeping after exercise....I actually sleep better...this is not the case for everyone....

rearrange your schedule so that you do train in the morning....go to sleep at 8pm....suck it up and do it...create a constant schedule you keep....which will make it easier to wake up in the morning....so that go to sleep at 8-9 pm every night and wake up every morning at 5-6am....drink a cup of coffee or take caffeine pill to wake you up...if you need it....then go train.....by training in the morning you'll be more energetic throughout the day....try taking 2-3mg of melatonin and take magnesium and zinc supplements for better sleep....take them 30-60 minutes before sleep...

i aint a big fan of coffe to keep you awake how ever if its too wake you up and you need it that bad shouldnt be too much trouble every now and then.. just try not taking advantage of it as your "energy" source, and try setting your body into a routine of how it sleeps and rests.. working out early in mourning will take some time and modivation at first to get use to but overtime like menace said you should feel more energy throughout the day, and overall recover better nutrition wise.. and YES.. i still got that pic there stupid freetrainers wont update my new ass shot!!:laugh:

The morning thing would be tough because I've never been a morning person. It may be my only choice. I am also reconsidering joining a gym and doing the lunch workout. I prefer home but to save time it may be worth it. The 5 min. cardio thing has helped some. I have been trying to balance out my diet with more complex carbs to get sustained energy. (if I understand carbs correctly) I am a bit concerned with consistent use of caffeine since I hardly ever have soda or caffeinated coffee. As for sleeping after the night workout, I usually have no problem here unless I try to ge to bed immediately afterward. (< 30 mins.)

I'm going to keep at it this way for now, but morning or lunch may end up the best solution. Time and lack of results and/or energy will tell.

Another not so related question, since I am trying to gain should I do cardio once per week? Will it work against bulking since it will increase my metabolism?

Thanks!

menace3000:

I decided to give your idea a try so took a break last night and woke up early. The time change here in the states helps with this. It turns out that I had a pretty good leg workout. I'm going to see how this goes for a bit. I definitely need rubber plates in my house though, so that I don't wake everyone up. Its hard to be delicate and quiet with 45's.

i lost 92 pounds working out whenever i could. some days 7 am, sometimews 11 pm after work.(6 days a week)and i used weight watchers, so i was using a portion controled diet. i just think doing it is more important than when, but i can only speak from my personal experiance.

no matter how tired i was i just did it. and still do, with a 7 year old and an infant!!

lilacdawn and you havent yet experienced overtraining...???

2fingers good job...just keep it up...once it becomes a routine it will become second nature to you.....

I am guessing lilac meant training in terms of just staying active....weight lifting, cardio, active rest...etc....that's why maybe she's not overtraining but actually keeping up her energy levels...

no..what is that? because i go 6 days a week? i dont understand.

i used to walk 3 miles in the morning and go to the gym at night. but now with an infant its a little harder. so i go whenever i can.i find that if i cant get to the gym in the morning, i sometimes have to wait until late, and i get myself all excited about going its all i think about all day so i am ready to go, no matter the time. i know the results,so its become something i HAVE to do now :)
