I have been doing so well lately, eating right and exercising. But today someone brought around donuts and I had 2! I feel guilty and just cannot seem to control comfort foods!. yesterday it was 2 biscuits and some gravy! I try and it is so hard. I just needed to vent, so sorry if I sound whiney, but this is a real problem for me. I have a family reunion the first of september and want to look my best or even close and when I eat like that it brings me down! Can anyone sympathize?

Yes of course. Everyone has down days when you get the munchies. Try keeping healthy snacks around the house and when your out, if you can't resist, try sharing a piece with someone.
Just look on it as a momentary lapse (which we all get) and get right back on with your healthy habits.

Hey, it is okay to vent, you are admitting to your difficulties and you know what you have to do, right? So, just try to think about how great you will feel when you attain your goals when you are having difficulty resisting, go grab a glass of water and a healthy snack and be PROUD that you are able to comfort yourself with something else and I'll bet you will feel better after the donuts have all been eaten by OTHERS! :)

I usually ask myself "will that help me get to my goal" when I'm staring a donut in the face. They say cravings pass after a few minutes. I find "out of sight - out of mind" also helps.

I think that if I've had something bad then afterwards I try to be good to make up for it or exercise more to burn it off. Don't let it be a slippery slope but instead see it as being human & make sure you get on the right track. Remind yourself of how far you've come & your goal & stick to it & you'll do fine.

Tx,
Lossing weight is tough and takes a long time and a lot of persistence. I've never really been overweight but I stopped working out and got a big belly. I started eating right and working out again a year ago and I'm still not where I want to be!!
Stick with it and be patient!! Persistence is the key!!
