I worked 10 hours today and then ran 6 miles home. This run was very bizzare for me. The run was 70% up hill. It was the 6th running day of the week, I hadn't had much more than 1500 calories (not much for me),and yesterdays run was disappointing. And the day before yesterdays run I had a race, and I was still a little sore from that. So naturally after all these things I thought would hinder me, I didn't expect much from this run. The result: The best run I've had all week by far, maybe even all season. I felt amazing. I sipped on a Full Throttle energy drink about a half an hour before running, and another variable is that it was much cooler then most days that I run. I really think that the energy drink might have had something to do with it, I felt those same feelings once before after drinking a Full Throttle but I forgot about it, it was a while ago. Should I consider drinking one post-race? Or everyday before a run?
