Start off with every other day. It is hard to tell you how long you should go because for some people 10 minutes is hard, for others 30 minutes is still too easy.
Without more info about your current fitness, all that can be suggested is that you get started and work out at a high level of effort... push yourself further each week.
You must also be sure to add weight training to your routine if you want to see the fastest results. Muscle burns fat. Also, don't make the mistake of starving yourself to lose weight.
