Hi granny, welcome to FT! If you do a quick fitbuddy search under slimfast you will find a huge amount of info on this. It's been discussed a few times. There are a lot of carbs derived from sugar in slimfast, I don't personally like any diet that deprives you of a healthy meal.
On a personal note, a friend of mine lost a ton of weight on slimfast, like 75 lbs on slimfast and exercise. She lives across the street, so I watched the pounds melt off her daily. And I swear, I could tell a change every day. She followed the "shake for breakfast, shake for lunch, sensible dinner" routine. So, she's thin! However, she's got the saggiest butt I've ever seen (you know us girls look at that), and you can just tell that she lost weight in an unhealthy way. I'm sure you've seen people like that. She's also run down, tired, her skin and hair looks unhealthy, etc. I am not Dr. but I believe it's due to her not having the nutrients and protein in her diet to keep her muscles and skin tight and firm. So, it may be a quick way, but not the best. Try some good old fashioned diet and exercise. Good luck. :)
