hi
i just wanted to know that if HIIT cardio really works or should i go back to the traditional cardio of 50-60% of my heart rate.Does anybody here had success with HIIT cardio?Do u loose muscle mass doing HIIT cardio?I am doing HIIT on elliptical going 30/30 second split in 30 sec low intensity and 30 sec high intensity.what do u think will it work in the long run?

Try this. Program the machine with your weight, age and all the other goodies and do 30 minutes at a regular speed. Then do 30 minutes of your HIIT on the next day. See how many calories it tells you you've burned.
All I know, is that per minute, I burn more with HIIT and I sweat my arse off.

I'm with prairiegirl on that one... I've done both... prefer HIIT because of the shorter duration, but I swear, I sweat more after HIIT and feel I get a better cardio session...

The other important thing about HIIT is that after you've finished exercising you continue to burn extra calories for a few hours after. Standard cardio doesn't so this
