First of all, you loose weight by spending more calories (also referred as energy) then you intake. Now, normal day today activities "burn" (burn is used when saying 'spending calories') around 2000 calories and your goal is to get that number higher.
Cardio is short for Cardio Vascular, it includes running, biking, walking, swimming and all the sports that include those activities.
Spending more calories isn't easy, an hour of running only spends around 300-400 cals.
Another thing is a good nutrition plan,you need to check the sites nutrition plan and see whats your recommended calorie intake.
