Discount Weights and Stuff

jhadams Posts: 175 Joined: 2003/03/27	2003/04/02, 10:38 AM Anyone know of a good discount weight outlet online? I need to order some dumbells, flat bench, dumbell rack, etc. The stuff I have is ok, but to get serious, I need to extend past my current weights. Thanks
peopleschamp Posts: 38 Joined: 2003/03/20	2003/04/02, 11:55 AM some equipment is donated to organizations like the salvation army which they turn around and sell cheap to raise money. it is cheap and one friend said it is in good condition as well. you can check ebay or yahoo auctions, but you take the risk of getting crap. equipment can be expensive so you have to look at how seriously you want it. for dumbells you could always get the plate set and then getting more weight is easier. usually people lift less on dumbells than on barbells. dumbell rack is pretty much an aesthetic thing and not a necessity so if your short on funds don't bother. look in your home papers because sometimes garage sales sell that kind of stuff, i got a great weider bench for $50 bucks (it was in good condition, i just cleaned it before i used it). also some of the larger outlets have decent prices depending on what you are looking for. get a simple bench that does a incline/flat/decline dont worry about the leg attachment or anything like that because it isn't necessary.

I was just looking for something simple when doing triceps or when my wife does dips. But I think I have found what I am looking for. We also have a Play It Again Sports right around the corner. Already have Hex Weights in 10, 20 and 30, so I would like to stay with Hexes and rack wa exactly that cosmetic. Just didnt know with all the people out here, if someone had found great deals. jhadams Posts: 175 Joined: 2003/03/27	2003/04/07, 10:27 AM Thanks Mikey. Someone mentioned that to me here. I found a dumbell rack (3-tier) for about 80 bucks and ended up finding dumbells (new) at .50 cents a pound. Best price I found anywhere!
