i was wondering if anyone could help me. i'm 23 and just starting out with this program. i can't do the chin-up between chairs and the dips behind back things. is there anything i can do alittle easier to work out those areas? the back and triceps..... i'd really apreciate the help. thanks

Try doing pushups. If they are to hard, put your knees on the ground. Also, even though you can't do a complete rep on those exercises, you can benefit from doing partials.

You can always do a swap for those exercises.Check out fitness resources.

when i do the pull up i can't get my butt off the floor, and when i do the dips i can never get back up. would it be ok to only do 5 or so, becuz i can't seem to do anymore then that? i'm getting very discouraged.....

Don't discourage. 5 is fine if that is all you can do. Just keep doing them. Do you think most people can do 12-15 wide grip chins or weighted chins when they first start out. Shoot no. I started with 3 chins and 7 dips. That was about 4 months ago. Now I am up to 8 chins and 15 dips. Takes time. hang in there. You can also swap exercises and build up, but if you want that wide v-shaped back, nothing beats the chins.

Hang in there mmacchio, we all had to start with one!! Like agamble, I have been able to add 1 chinup every 2 or 3 weeks. Progress may seem slow but it really can be amazing how quickly we make gains. I am up to 9. Keep trying.

2-3 weeks sounds like good progress. that is even encouraging for me.
