Im a very active 50y.o. male. Ive lost 40 lbs and want to try to add more muscle. I work out 5-6 days a week.I do alot of cario(walking, jogging, stairmaster, eliptical x trainer) about 1 hr a day. I also lift weights. Im a little bit restricted on real heavy weights at this time, due to rotator cuff surgery 13 wks ago. Anyway I'm considering taking creatine. I've read it will aid in building muscle growth.How long before you see results? Will I gain back the weight I've bust my a** to loose? Side effects? Any input or success stories will be appreciated.

Creatine wont make you gain fat but it will probally make your weight go up...creatine absorbs water into the muscles and gives them volume, you probally will gain some weight but its "good" weight....do a search on this site...or on the internet theres plently of helpful info...good luck

try absolutecreatine.com- Personally for me creatine has made my workouts more productive and I began to notice results in about three weeks. As detox said there's alot of discussion on this topic here and elsewhere.

creatine is a form of quick engery for muscle cells, even more so and more powful than ATP ( cellular respiration, aerobic or annarobic) only thing is it only lasts for 6 to 8 secs and helps in endurace. This would be kinda like putting a high octance fuel in your car, same engine same parts, but better performance, speed accelateration etc. so with the combination of cellar respiration( ATP) and creatine this makes yoru m,uscle Endurance go up. Ex. instead of benching 200lbs for 7 reps you might get it 8 or 8 1/2. Now you ownt gain much weight as long as you don't load it( loading it would be taking like 20g. a day for 7 or 8 days this is for your body to store it and then you have a "maintance" where you take 5g a day. HOWEVER you don't have to do this, you can take 2 or 3 g before work outs and 3 or 4 after works outs and still see the same benifits( saves alotta money). YOu might gain a ound or two nothing major( when i loaded creatine in high school I gained 7) THis is do to the up take of water into the muscle cell, this extra water does many things, among them make you look bigger( not bad eh?), and the extra water helps flush out latic acid and helps keep water in the muscle( all metabolic processes in the body are caried out in water/ H2O) MAKE SURE YOU DRINK PLENTY OF WATER! at least a gallon a day, even if your not thristy drink it anyways, you will dehydrate rather quickly and caruse cramps( in the worse cases i never have my self) but your mouth will get chaulky lol.
few side effects are dierrea and maybe nausea....thi si usually becose people take too much, under 5 grams a day and you should be ok............hope this helps
