I don't know how reliable this is, a guy at the gym that I was chatting with at the bench told me I needed to do incine and decline as well as your standard bench. He told me that it works your Pecs in a way that the grow up, and down making them larger, and more balanced looking. Not sure if that helps or answers your question reall well, and if anyone knows otherwise please feel free to critique.

When it comes to fifferent angle heres the jist......different angles recruit different amounts of muscle fibers.....Incline hits about 60-70somthing % of chest fibers.....regualar bench hits like 60 somthing.......decline hits in the high 80s%.........switch this over to dumbells, which exherts a greater stretch and more range......you can add about 5% to each of the above percentages. More muscle fiber you recruit, the more muscle fiber you damages, the more have to be repaired, bigger they get. Make sense? lol
