Ha, ha, ha! I agree...you may not wake up the next day.
Seriously, the mild electronic shock tenses your muscle but does not destroy them! This is achieved by continuous strain which essentially tears them apart. So, you're not just "tensing" your muscles in weight training.
During your sleep, your body begins to repair the damaged muscle tissues. As time goes by, the repaired muscle strands become stronger and thicker. This increases muscle mass and density which increases your overall strength.
Therefore, unless you shock your muscles enough to destroy them, those electronic contraptions are pretty much useless. I guess you can turn yourself into a lightning rod and do it that way, but you may do much more damage than just destroy your muscles...LOL!
