I was wondering if carb blockers would help curb negative effects of alcohol, i.e. beer. I have been training steadily, but still enjoy the weekly night out. I figure I could use it as a cheat day (I will still eat healthfully, but "cheat" with beer) but was wondering if such a supplement might come in handy on such a day. Anyone know?
I think I have my own answer, in case anyone else is interested. From what I have read, carb blockers don't block simple sugars, only starches and more complex carbs.
There are carb blockers that claim to be designed for beer, but I am unsure if they work any differently.
I would like to know if there is any way to limit the damage alcohol has on muscle recovery. I have read drinking 50g of protein beforehand is a good way to do so. True? Anything else?
