i do cardio for 40 minutes before weight training. i have read in previous posts that this is bad for gaininig muscle. can someone explain why and can i do cardio after lifting instead?

THIS ALL DEPENDS. LOOK IF YOUR TRYING TO GAIN LEAN MUSCLE MASS THEN 40 MINUTES OF CARDIO ISNT THE BEST. CUZ YOU WILL BE BURNING THE PROTIENS OUT OF YOUR MUSCLE. HOWEVER IF YOUR LOOKING TO SHRED/CUT UP(BECOME MORE DEFINED) THEN CARDIO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND ALONG WITH AMPLE AMOUNTS OF WEIGHT LIFTING COUPLED WITH THE CORRECT DIET.

MY SUGGESTIONS: 10-20 MINUTES OF CARDIO @ YOUR TARGET HEART RATE BEFORE STRETCHING & BEFORE WORKING OUT. DEPENDING ON YOUR GOAL.
