How do you calculate how fast you are walking. I went for a walk today 27 minutes and walked 1 and a half miles. So how do you figure out how fast you are going? Isnt there some kind of formula used to calculate the speed? Thanks In Advance!!! :)

You were walking about 3 mph.

If a train leaves Portland at 20 mph...and a plane leaves L.A. at 200mph................Makes my eyes cross.

6 mph is a 10 minute mile, 5 mph is a 12 minute mile, 4 mph is a 15 minute mile, 3 mph is a 20 minute mile, 2 mph is a 30 minute mile (very slow)....and so on.

my guess and i'm not strong on the maths is as follows.
actual distance walked divided by the time = x.
x multiplied by 60 minutes = miles per hour.
so:
1.5 miles divided by 27 minutes = 0.056 miles per minute X 60 minutes =3.360
Hope this helps you keep track
