Are there certain breathing techniques that you can use to lift heavier? I was wondering if your breathing effects the amount of weight you can lift. thanks

Yes it does....just remember this....before the negative portion of the lift take in a big breath of air and hold it on the way down...as you start the positive portion exhale forcefully....this has worked for me hopefully it will work for you too!!!

wait... so let's say i'm benching (maxing out)... so i hold the bar in the air.... my arms are extented upwards... i take a huge ol' breath and hold it in as i lower the bar to my chest (nice and easy)... then, as i start to push the bar up again, i exhale hard and loud... is that what you meant?
heh, thanks!
