I had started a bulking program (originally intended to last three months) four weeks ago. Although I was not increasing my calories by an outrageous amount, I was concerned about putting on too much fat in the process. bb1fit made the excellent suggestion then that I evaluate one month at a time and that if I felt that I was putting on too much fat that I take two weeks or so to lean down before continuing with the bulking. I am now thinking about doing a two-week leaning process before returning to the bulking. Aside from cutting back on my calories, I was wondering if I should change my lifting program or continue what I was doing. My split has been:
Mon. -- Chest, Shoulders and Triceps (Heavy); short cardio Tues. -- Back, Biceps (Lighter); short cardio Wed. -- Legs (Heavy) Thurs. -- long cardio Fri. -- Chest, Shoulders & Triceps (Lighter); short cardio Sat. -- Back & Biceps (Heavy); Legs (Very Light) Sun. -- Off
Should I continue this or perhaps go to a three or four-day split (perhaps even full body workouts) to create time for longer cardio sessions. Any suggestions are appreciated.
