Hello all. First off thank you for any help you guys can give me. Here is my problem. I am skinny and I want to get bigger. I have been lifting hard 5 days a week for the past 8 months. I eat every thing in site. Over the last 4 weeks i have really started to put on some weight. I am up 7 pounds over what i started at but i am worried that i am just putting on bodyfat. My stomach looks a little bigger and that bothers me. I am getting stronger because i lift a lot more now then i did 8 months ago however i want to know how much of that weight is muscle or if it is all bodyfat. Thanks again for any comments/advice.
The "eating everything in site" could be part of your problem. Despite common belief, putting on mass does NOT require eating thousands of calories above your normal caloric level each day. It does require eating more than normal, but those calories should come from quality carbs and protein, and very little excess fat intake. The fat that you get should come from quality dietary fat sources and/or flaxseed oil supplementation.
Also, the calories that you take in should be timed to be maximally effective for your workouts and for your lifestyle.
