One thing I don't understand...if home to work is 3.5 miles, how do you get 10.5 miles from work to home? Anyway, the biking could impede your muscle gains as it is a form of aerobic exercise. If your goal is to gain mass, then you will need to limit your aerobic exercise activity. Your hunger is a result of your body constantly requiring fuel...this is a good sign! If you don't already, eat 4-7 meals per day to feed your system.
BTW, it would help if you also told us what your height is. Good luck!

Perhaps he bikes to work but his work is on wheels so it becomes futher from home? :)(Joke) Sounds like you aren't eating enough, and or the right foods. Please fill out your profile, and welcome to the community.

Right, the ride home is 10.5 miles due to a long loop I take after work. Part of my problem is liking to ride and not knowing if I shoud skip the longer ride home, or if it will actually help me once I get my nutritional plan dialed in. Oh and I'm 6'1"

I might have to concur with the Rpacheco and carivan, you may need to look at your nutrition plan. I do long cycling training runs (40 to 60 miles during a training session) and jog (5 to 6 miles per day). I don't have problems with the muscle gain. I have been preparing for L.A. Marathon while also preparing for 100 mile (1 day)cycling events. I eat 4 to 6 small meals per day. You may want to seek out a nutritionist's assistance in setting up a dietary plan to match your goals. Just some thoughts! Keep on biking . . . The Cyclingmaniac!
