Ok, thought this is worth sharing.

About a week ago I went to the gym and saw they were having a benchpress competition, thought I would sign up, give it a shot, I knew there was no way I would win unless I was the only guy to show up lol. Well that competition was today, and I did not come in last!! hehe, This was a military competition, so more than those that would normaly compete (like myself) did, and the normal guy is the one that gave me a chance. I pushed 205, that seems to be my consistant max atm, stated that on another thread a while ago. Really tried for 215, just could not hack it. After the whole thing was done, a guy won with a 400something lol, and he weighted under 200lbs, good stuff. Then, one of the other guys came up to me, after the whole thing, congratulated me on my 205 and asked how long I have been lifting. Told him about 2 months, at best. We chatted for a bit he gave me a few pointers on stuff, things that there is no way a trainer online here cound help me with, because I did not know my problem areas were, just could not see them myself, so I could not put them across online. Was great, now I am going to work on my lower arms a bit, my control and balance was one of my problems, my arms are so long that I guess I need a bit more stability up top. He figured that once I can get the stability I need, I should bump past my 215 to 225 fairly quickly, and the best part of all is now I have a few guys that I know in the gym, and they know that I am all up for critisism/modivation! (kind-a run hand in hand hu?)

Just thought I would share my experiance, hope that it might modivate some people to go to, or compete in a competition, perhaps you will learn a few things about yourself, or find a workout buddy. Good luck all and Thank you to all the guys/gals on the boards that have helped me out!
