I have been following the 8 week intermediate wight training program. The question is that I have had to stop for about 2 weeks. Should I start over or where I left off or where I would have been or any other points.

Thanks

Don't start back up using the same weight. Start off slow and work yourself back up. It takes a little longer but hey, you don't want to hurt yourself. I know a guy who took off three weeks and when he came back he tore one of his pecks because he tried to start out full force. The bad news is that he had to miss the next 4 months of good training because of it. Take it slllooooowwwww... and you will be back where you were within two weeks.

The gains will come quickly as 2 weeks isn't that long a lay-off. Also if this is due to an injury then be careful with bringing the injured area back to full bore. Ice injured areas after working out to decrease the rick of reinjury and/or inflammation.

Yeah I need to start listening to advice like that. I know to slide things back a bit after a layoff but I have a hard time applying the restraints. Limit yourself just a little and you'll be back in no time. The worst that I've suffered from not taking it easy on the comeback is a pinched nerve, but I know I'm asking for worse!

I would prefer a max. of a week as warm up..not with too light weights but not to get the full potential out of my muscles.
