Just curious to see if anyone here takes bellydance classes or dances professionally? I've been taking it for about 1 and half years but recently had to quit due to my back ( i have fibromialgia) I really enjoed it. Anyone know of any exerciese to help with bellydance? I've tried back extensions on the machine and ball but they irritate my back. Im hoping to get back into it once my back is stronger. Any insight is greatly appreciated> thank you in advance.

I have been taking belly dancing lessons for about 3 months now and I am just loving it. It is such a great form of exercise and my husband just loves to see what I learn after each lesson. I also used to dance when I was younger for 18 and I would do anything to get back into it again. Try starting out with yoga classes that are less strain on your joints and back.

Good to hear you are enjoying it! Thankyou for your response! I was thinking of trying yoga and maybe pilates down the road. I hope that will help because i really miss it!

It is also very relaxing to say the least. When I used to take ballet, the only physical problem you had to worry about was not stretching properly. Yoga and pilates help you learn how to stretch and it is just excellent.
