Hey guys.. just curious if anyone has had a sever accident. I heard that when you tear your pectoral muscle, it sounds like ripping paper! Ouuuch! I once almost tore my bicep when I was doing strict seated dumbell curls with 70's. It was purple for a week.. kinda scary!

i have a buddy who actually tore if forearm - which is kinda odd. it happened during a rugby game. the Dr. said that he was astonished that the bone was not broke....I was kinda sick. He would get people to put there ear up to it, he would then make a fist and you could hear the muscle making this crunching noise.... The torn muscle is healed now, but it took quite some time, but i think using his arm as a freak show didn't help it heal any faster.

Never has happened to me Arnold, I'm pretty far from curls with 70's. I think if it's that hard to do the curls and is affecting your chest, it's probably too much weight.

Hey merlinhog,
I handled the weight well for 6 reps each arm.. I never even felt any bad pain.. the next morning it was just purple.. go figure.

luckily I have never torn anything. Well I guess its not luck really... Anyway I heard about a Mr.O competitor who once tore his biceps by doing dumbell preacher curls incorrectly.

the only muscle tear I had was about 3 days ago, I was doing flat bench leg raises, I stretched me abs too much and didn't go up in a controlled motion, I went up too fast that just one rep caused a small tear in obliques. the Dr. told me that it was a hernia (a tear in the ab wall) and that it just needed som rest. So I won't work my abs nor do any lunging motion for at least 3 weeks. Amr

Hi Arnold, Sorry to hear about you accident. I had talked to a few pro's not to long ago and I can't remember which one told me that he tore a chest muscle and had to have an operation on it. He was out for a whole year. I hope yours isn't that bad but be sure to rest it so you don't do more damage from what I hear it is very painful. Take care.
