Are you talking free form for a single purpose, or peptide bonded? Some free form such as arginine do have a purpose. For instance arginine is the basis of all your NO supplements.

Each free form amino will serve a different purpose. Then you have the branched chain aminos, and then you are now speaking of full spectrum aminos. As far as they go, if you are bulking, you are probably eating enough food that they are not really necessary.

BCAA's shine when dieting as calories get lower. Full spectrum aminos are useful when beginning dieting, you can take a couple with each meal to insure proper amino acid profile of the food you eat.
