Hi,

I have been reading alot about overtraining, and wonder if I am. I am not fatigued or anything, but would like to continue to see results. here is my routine:
Mon & Thurs- chest and back
Tues & Friday- Bi's/tri's
Weds & Saturday- legs

I also do cardio 6 days a week, ranging from 25-40 min each times. Abs 6 days a week. rest on sunday.
I should mention that i enjoy working out daily. I am not looking to gain any mass, just continue to tone. by the way, I am 30yo female.

thanks for the advice

Yeah that does seem like you are overtraining. What exercises do you do for those particular body parts?

Do you train your shoulders?

what kind of exercises do you do for each body part?

How heavy do you go? how many exercises/sets per exercise?

what type of activities do you do daily?

As long as you're able to handle this volume/frequency of training then it's fine....remember that you may need to take more time off every couple of months....like a week or two......

I train my on the days with bi/tri's, although I have questioned whether this is the right time, since it follows my chest (hard on joints). I generally do 3-4 exercises per body part, 3 sets each. I primarily use free weights, but do use some machines, with increasing weight so that by the end of my 3rd set reaches almost failure. Daily activities are chasing my 3 year old and taking college classes.
Thanks for any advice.

definitely cut the volume if you choose twice a week fullbody training...however you'll see plenty of results with just once a week full bodypart split training....just step up intensity a bit....and take the extra time to do other things....like chasing your child :)

Thanks for the advice, I have been at the schedule for around 4 1/2 months. IF I were to cut it down, that would mean that I could sleep in slightly, I have been getting up at 5:30 so that I have time while she is still asleep.

I enjoy doing cardio, and can't imagine only doing it 2 times a week, would 4 times instead of 6 still be too much?

thanks
