I've never been much of a fan of cardio but am planning to start shortly on my non-weight training days and have a few questions:
-Is it ok to train calves and/or abs when I do cardio (this would be before cardio)?
-Is it still recommended to take my pos-workout shake of protein/malto/dextrose after the cardio workout?

I do calves and abbs in between my cardio sessions. I get bored with cardio quick, so i do in 10 min incriments with abbs and calves in between. I'd take just the protein after a cardio session, since you did train abbs and calves.

Always do the weights first so your muscles aren't fatigued, then the cardio.

But what about the pos-workout shake?
My guess would be that it should'nt be anywhere near the amounts of malto/dextrose that I take after weight training.
But still, not sure/
