Im new here and i am trying to gain 30-40 lbs to get in shape for next football season bc i play on the line and im only 165, not a good weight for a line men.
Is 30-40 lbs safe to gain over 7-8 months ?
Do the routines they give on here actually work ?
Anyone know of a good diet i could follow ?

If you are going to play as a lineman, just eat as much as you can eat and work out with heavy weight. Linemen are usually overweight, but also have alot of muscle. That's the very general rule to getting to a point like that :). And gaining 30-40 lbs in 7-8 months is pretty easy to do, not all muscle of course, but weight in general. But it also probably depends on the type of body you have...ectomorph?
Eat eat eat, train, rest and grow!

I was once fat, but than grew about 3-4 inches so now im a skinny 6 foot 1 kid at 165 who needs to way about 200 by next July without compromising speed.

unless your just genetically gifted, you will gain 30-40 pounds of pure muscle. If not, gaining that much weight in that amount of time with the least fat gain will be almost impossible. It'll take around 2 years for most people to do that. But like Firehawk said, usually lineman are overweight guys who have lots of muscle. The overweight position might even help you by being more heavier then the other opponent and nocking them off their feet. Goodluck Though.
