hi new to working out im kinda skinny but i got excess fat around my gut and chest area. i dont need to loose any weight just burn the fat off of those areas. all i have is a set of dumbbells and a flat bench what kind of advice can u guys give me in order to get a six pack by june and a cut chest with just the above materials????

Your priority based on these goals is cardio...

I suggest cardio 3 times a week for 30-60 min at 70% target heart rate

(220-age)*0.70=target heart rate

This is the zone where you burn most fat for fuel...the longer you go the more fat your body will utilize, it will mostly kick in after 15-20 min mark....Also warm up to this intensity don't just start running...

You can do 3 set of 10 reps of flyes with the dumbells...DBs facing each other, like you're hugging a tree...this is different from DB presses...pick a weight whcih you can do only 9-10 reps...if you can do more increase weight...

as soon as you finish one set of flyes get down and do a set of push ups of as many as you can...then rest for 1-2min and repeat again this cycle 2 more times



-Do crunches 3 sets of as many as you can, rest 60 sec
-DO leg raises off the floor 3 sets as many as you cna 60 sec rest, butt comes off the floor on each rep...keep legs as straight as possible for maximal intesity
-do russian twists to hit obliques, 3 sets, also as many as you can , 60 sec rest....

if you get winded take 5 min of extra rest between ab exercises

Hey, Bearkillah. I got the same frame as you, same height and about the same weight, and I'm gonna start cutting soon.
I recommend you alter your diet and cut out anything with sugar or high carbs in it, including juice, bread etc. High protein will work for you. If you wanna eat fruit or oatmeal make sure it's in the first half of the day. Make low fat choices when possible too, such as skim milk.

I always thought the fat burning kiks in after around 2 mins
And I had read that weights were the best way to lose fat. its so confuseing! is it weights or cardio?

thanks menace your post sounded like something i could handle man how oftern should i be doing the lifting and i want to work my arms and shoulders as well what do you recomend??/

you can weight train up to 4 days a week. You can pick the days.....but i would go four days working out back to back..............

abbs are about diet
