Hi. First off, I am 6'3" 280 lbs 16 yo Male that plays a lot of baseball (reason for trying to lose the weight) I am in 'decent' shape. I say that because I can out-bench, squat, curl all on my team. My problem lies in the way I look. With a shirt on, I look fairly built. Without one however, I tend to get embarrased. I don't know my body fat % (nor do I really want to know:(). I am a big person. My father is 6'3" and in his prime was around 260 muscle, and his brother (who everyone said I am built like more) was 6'6" 325 muscle. I am not that much muscle. I can run 2 miles, so I am not in bad shape, just want to get better.
Now that you have a little background, I am looking for a few suggestions. I am looking to drop the 30 pounds in 5 months. Not an incredibley hard, but I think its going to be tough. I plan on going on the 'half' diet (eat half of what you normally would, and cut out the junk food). I would like to tone my muscles during this period. Here lies the problem. Because I play baseball, I need flexibility, and the more I lift, the tighter I get. I NEED to retain the flexibility. What can I do to negate the effects of the weight on my muscles. So basically I need to learn how to tone while remaining flexible. My main areas that I want to tone are my arms, abs (just lose the gut, don't really care about the 6 pack), and...man breasts. That's where the embarassment lies. :surprised: I read on here how you can't spot lose, thats why I am asking for exercises. Thanks a lot and any help that you guys and gals could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot,
Chris

RedSS454 At your hieght and weight you can lose weight by consuming 2300 calories going as low as 1300 will put you into starvation mode you will not be able to maintain such a low input and so as you fail you will get fatter as your bodys responce to hunger. Dont go lower than 2300 and get them from clean source's and use weights as your main activety.

1)what position do you play?
what is your current workout routine? do you have one? what 2)is your past workout history?
3)is there any significant injury that i should know about...be honest.
4)what type of work out facility is available to you?
5)what are your practices like and how long do they normally last?
i've got a bunch of questions other than these, but it atleast gives me a better idea of what's going on.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. My computer has been down for awhile, and I haven't been able to get it working until now.
I am a pitcher, first base, some 3rd, and 4 hitter. I really have no 'routine' other than I work out everyday. I usually run for a mile, then lift a little bit. The biggest significant injury is I have had ACL (the one in my throwing elbow) problems. My phys therapist gave me some exercises about 5 years ago, and I do them religiously and it I have not had a problem since. I have a home gym. I have a treadmill, weight bench (the one with the leg machine at the foot of it, and a cross bar to bench-press with), body by jake ab machine (I never really believed in that), and an exercise bike. Practices usually run from 2:45-5:00. They are not constant activity though. Fire the questions. Any help that I could give you to help me is more than worth it. THanks a lot,
Chris
