I noticed that while taking creatine, when I went to donate blood, my blood pressure was high ( the top # ). I stopped taking it after the first 50 day supply ran out. Is this normal? Does ones body usually adjust over time or is that something that you put up with if your going to take creatine? Is is dangerous ?

I am not sure if this is normal or not it should say something on the container of creatine if it is. Like not recommended for people with blood presure problems or heart disease. As far as dangerous, how high was it if it was more than 140/80 and you were at rest at the time it is too high. 140/80 used to be acceptable I think it was refered to as high normal but not now it is considered high. I just went through the whole high blood pressure thing about 6 months ago. If you are un sure you should monitor it regularly over a few weeks to a month checking it every other day or so at different times of the day and averaging it out, or see a doctor. Good luck but dont leave it

I don't think it is because of the creatine. I myself have high blood pressure and I'm take medication while taking creatine. I have't noticed any problems yet.You could of had high blood pressure for a long time without knowing it, I didn't know I had it until I went to the doctors for tiredness I could hardly stay up past 9.00 pm. So now I'm on medicine and working out and feeling 100 times better.

I give blood all the time and my blood pressure has been about 120/80 or lower. On that day that I am speaking of after taking creatine for about a month,it was 142 over 80. It seems that I did read somewhere that Creatine could cause temporairy high blood pressure. I had it taken just the other day and it was 116/65 so I do not think I have a problem. sI definately felt stronger while taking it. I would like to continue. I just want to be safe.
Thanks for the help. Any iput is apperciated.
