I'm on the 8th and final week of my program. Am I supposed to take a break between programs? Is that why they're broke up into 8 week intervals? Also, what's the difference between the 8 week and the 12 week program? (besides the obvious)

Hey bretto,

It is not necessaru to take a break after the 8 week program unless you feel you need it, listen to your body.

The reason for the 8 week program is that the body adapts to the training after about 6-8 weeks so it is good to change up the program after that time, hence the ft 8 week programs lengths.

You may start a new program right after the first one ends, simply use your old profile / goals or change them.

There are only two 12 week program currently, the strength and mass program as well as the 12 week abs program, which can be done along any 8 week fitness program.

Good Luck.

You're suppose to take a week off every 6-12 weeks. Never work out more than 12 weeks straight.

So if my body has adapted but my goals have not changed, then how can I "change up" my program? Does the staff here do that for me?

roelof, how long of a break do I take after 12 weeks?

.. once you reach the final week of your exercise program, a message will appear on your screen allowing you to continue another 8 week program with the same goals or to change your goals. Simply click on the one you want, easy as that. Your new 8 week program will be ready within minutes.

.. there is no need to take time off after the 8 week program, perhaps after 2 of them (so after 16 weeks) it may be recommended if you feel your body needs time to recover. The time would be aprox 1 week. Remember, there is no set rule for this, everyone is different, listen to your body.

.. good luck!

Not to step on Arnolds toes, but you should take a week off after your 8 week program, especially if you've just started out. Rest, your body will thank you for it.

Thanx y'all...I really appreciate your info. Since I starting working out I've never felt better (after the initial soreness) Plus I kinda love that slight achy feeling I get a couple of days after a workout; it tells me something's actually changing...good "confirmation," ya know what I mean. Unless there's some technical reason why I'd need to, I don't wanna ever stop this! :0) Besides, once I stop, it's hard to start again, ya know? I am "uping my intensity" all the time though, so we'll see how I feel after a few more weeks.
