I'm trying to do the 6 meals a day thing. Can I count my morning protein shake as a meal, or is that a completely seperate thing? (I work out in the evening) What about my post workout shake? What about a protein bar? I know I need to get most of my nutrients from real food; I just wondered if anyone else counts these supplements as one of their six meals.

Just keep track of your total intake of nutrients and go from there. I count shakes as meals but I also make sure they contain carbs and/or EFA's depending on the cycle.

Mike is correct...it's your overall total intake that counts. I count mine as meals since they contain a fair amount of calories.

You should eat real food in the morning. If you are going to depend on bars and shakes, yes they are meal replacements, however you should consider them as one of your snacks vice one of your actual meals. Protein shakes are best as a post workout supplement meal.
