As you can see from my profile I have lost a lot of weight with about 20lbs to go. The skin on my lower stomach is very loose. It just hangs there. It is very embarrasing to have to tuck in my stomach skin before I tuck in my shirt. HEHE. My question is--Will my skin shrink some as I start to build my muscle? How long do you think it will take. I have signed up for the 12 wk ab program, on my first week. I realize that I will never look like you guys, you know a "six pack", but I will settle for a "two pack".

Thanks guys.....

YOur skin will tighten up after some time, not sure exactly how long though. There's to many variables to really give it a time. Just rest assured, it WILL happen :-) Just keep at it...

As mentioned by roelof time will do the trick and the 12 week ab program should realy help it alone.

Loose skin is very hard to shrink, but once you get down to your ideal weight and if it's still there, you may required surgery to get it done. My younger sister really stretched out her skin with her first child (gained about 70 lbs) and she has a lot of dead skin. If she were to lose the weight she has kept on since her second child. She will need surgery to get rid of it. I know this sucks, but that is the price we pay sometimes.

Hey Lisa was the weight loss sudden or gradual? This seems most prevelant among people that have lost weight real quick. If thats the case then your skin will eventually catch up to a point. I'm a big beleiver in strech exercising to help.

Lisa, This may seem blunt and 70 pounds is amazing loss, but at 170 pounds you may be consfusing fat with some loose skin? Try to get down to your ideal weight and with some loose skin, you'll still definately be able to see ur abs...
Congratulations on ur massive weight loss, if you already lost 70 pounds you can lose the small amount left
