hello i wanted your opinion about walking with wrist or ankle weights. i have trouble running due to childhood trauma to my legs, and hence i prefer walking. i have heard that you can increase the intensity of your cardio by using wrist weights. is this true? will i get the same benefits of running if i were to walk at - say 3.8 mph uphill with 2lb dumb bells for 30 minutes? Do I have to swing my arms to get max benefit? (or is this a stupid question??)
It's all about increasing your heart rate...no matter how you achieve that. I used to play tennis with ankle weights and have found them to be beneficial during my training.
