Hey guys, I've been working and training hard for the past couple of weeks and I've adopted the training program of increasing weight per week to shock my muscles. Oddly though, when I decline on a bench, I get results like, 8, 4, 4, reps respectively whereas when I do my incline and flat bench, they are a bit more consistent (ie. 10, 9, 8, respectively). I do my declines last, and for the past couple of weeks, the results are the same, no matter what weight I do. It could be 115 one week and 120-125 the week after and the results are the same. Would this have to do with muscle Stamina or am I doing heavier weights than I can handle. I appreciate the help guys, Thanks! Chris

I think it has more to do with the bench inclination. During inclined work, the muscles assisting the lift are the upper chest, pecs and shoulders. I find that I cannot lift heavier at an inclined position.
As far as declined work, you may not be able to lift as heavy because of the position of the bar, in comparison to the flat and inclined work. Notice the stress is more on the arms than the chest on this movement. Try to keep the bar a little higher on your chest as the weights come down.
One last thing, aside from technique, you're right in assuming muscle stamina as a contributing factor. Work your weakest lift first and end with your strongest.
Good luck!
