I have been running/jogging 5 miles for the past 6 weeks approx 3/4 times a week. I have recntly bought some weights for additional strangth training. I need to lose weight around my stomach paticularly. I have read about Hydroxycut - any thoughts? and what about using American Whey as a protein supp? Any thoughts much appreciated.

Welcome to FreeTrainers.com. I hope you find all you are looking for. Please fill out a profile, tell us a little about yourself and your goals.

Now, GOOD GOD! Are you trying to waste away to nothing!? I ran competitive cross county in college and while I have a high metabolism, I think anyone running 15-20 miles a week will certainly get VERY lean. After 6 weeks have you seen a marked improvement? I would suggest you start a program here that is geared towards your goals. Namely an abs and toning program (separate programs). Then focus on your diet. You must eat right to lose the weight on your waste and SEE abs. However, as noted many times on this site, you cannot spot reduce or lose the flab around the waist only. I would stick with the diet, cardio, and a nutrition plan. See how that goes for a while and then revisit the Hydroxycut if you are still not satisfied.
As for the protein supp., always a good idea along with a multi-vitamin and plenty of water.

Take Care,
