hello,

I was wondering if anyone can answer a question that gets on my nerves. How is it a person can exercise all of there muscles ? Eg ur pecs, ur lower and upper and middle. Like do u guys do 3 different exercises for each one each time u do a workout ? I would find it strange if u did cause it would take so long. Or do u just work one area for a certain amount of time then go to another ?

The example you used basically involves just the chest muscles. So, you need to work on the upper and lower part during the workout as well. When I work on my chest, I do one or two exercises that target all areas. For example:

Pecs and upper chest: Inclined flyes (4 sets), inclined bench presses (4 sets)

Lower chest: Declined bench presses (4 sets) or declined flyes (4 sets)

Middle chest: Flat flyes or bench presses (4 sets)

Try to keep the total number of sets at around 12-15. Otherwise, you'll just end up overtraining. Sometimes, I substitute the 4th set with a superset.

I haven't yet heard of anyone working all muscle groups (legs, chest, arms, back, etc.) in one day, except maybe for those who circuit train. Anyway, the techniques used in circuit training is a little different.

Hope this answers your question...
